Introduction

Reference documentation for Synthesia's APIs.

Synthesia has four APIs, built for different jobs:

Interactive Avatars API — render a live, lip-synced avatar into a real-time conversation you control. Synchronous and streaming, not a video file.
Video API — generate finished video files: scripted avatar videos, dubbing, translation, and templates at scale. Asynchronous — you submit a job and poll or get a webhook when it's ready.
Upload API (V2) — upload your own image/video assets or custom script audio (e.g. your own text-to-speech) for use when creating Video API videos.
Billing API — retrieve your workspace's current billing period and credit balance programmatically.
