# Interactive Avatars: Operational trust

What to know before you run Interactive Avatar in production: pricing, limits, and limitations.

## Pricing

Interactive Avatar sessions are billed at 10 credits per minute ($0.10/min) of avatar usage, the same credit model as Dubbing.

You can check your current credit balance two ways: in your account's [Billing](https://docs.synthesia.io/docs/billing-settings#enterprise-billing-workspace) page, or programmatically via the [Billing API](https://docs.synthesia.io/reference/billing) if you want to monitor usage from your own systems.

## Limits

| Plan | Concurrent sessions |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| Freemium | 1 |
| All paid plans | 100 |
| Custom | Contact <sales@synthesia.io> for concurrency needs <100 |

Each running session counts toward this limit until it ends. Only sessions started through this API count. Over the limit, requests fail with `429`. See [Errors](https://docs.synthesia.io/reference/errors).

## Known limitations

* **No no-code embed.** You build the UI wrapper; there's no iframe or embed snippet. A fully managed pipeline (Synthesia-hosted LLM + TTS) is planned.
* **LiveKit-only transport.** There is no other transport option.
* **Limited session tooling.** No session list, transcript, recording, or webhook/event system. Capture transcripts on your own side via your STT provider if you need them.
* **Stock avatars can't be used.** Only synthetic and personal avatars work. See [Finding your avatar ID](/reference/ia-concepts#finding-your-avatar-id).
* **No gesture, hand, or full-body control.** Bust framing only.
* **Mobile isn't a primary target.** May work in a mobile browser, but isn't optimized for it.

## Errors

Interactive Avatar uses the same error model as the rest of the Synthesia API. The LiveKit plugin surfaces failures as a single `SynthesiaError` carrying an `ErrorType`. See the HTTP codes in [Errors](https://docs.synthesia.io/reference/errors) and the error types in the [Plugin reference](https://docs.synthesia.io/reference/ia-livekit-plugin-reference#errortype).
